5G Services Rolled Out in All Indian States and UTs, Available in 779 Districts

The Government has said that the 5G services have been rolled out in all States and Union Territories across the country and presently the services are available in 779 districts out of 783 districts in the country as of 31^st October this year. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said that more than 4.6 lakh 5G Base Transceiver Stations have been installed in the country since the launch of 5G services in October, 2022. He said that the Government has taken several initiatives for the proliferation of the services which include the assignment of sufficient spectrum for mobile services through auction and Spectrum sharing, trading and surrender has been permitted for its efficient use.
