Russia is grateful to Turkey for the ideal conditions for the Istanbul talks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
“Of course, we are grateful to the Republic of Turkey for the ideal conditions that the Turkish side has provided for the Istanbul talks,” Peskov told reporters.
There is no understanding yet on the continuation of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and on their location, Peskov added.
“Of course, the beginning of the negotiation process, for which the American side has made great efforts, is a very important achievement. And we are really grateful to the Americans and [US] President Trump personally for their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process. This is a very important achievement,” Peskov added.
