Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, will felicitate international and national-level players from Chandigarh this evening. According to a government spokesperson, 8 international and 479 national-level players will be honoured at a ceremony held at the Post Graduate College for Girls in Sector 42.

 

The players being recognised have excelled in 28 sports disciplines, including archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, and cycling. The administration will also award cash prizes totaling over 5.67 crore rupees and provide scholarships worth more than 1.32 crore rupees to these players.

 

During the event, the Union Minister will inaugurate a Billiards and Snooker Hall and a Chess Center. The Chess Centers have been set up at the sports complexes in Sector 39 and Sector 8, while the Billiards and Snooker Hall is located in the Sector 42 sports complex.
