The National Cadet Corps Mount Everest Expedition Team was warmly received at the DG NCC Camp in New Delhi yesterday, after successfully summiting the world’s highest peak on the 18th of last month.

The Expedition Team, with an average age of just 19, achieved a 100 per cent summit success rate despite harsh weather and difficult terrain. The team of ten cadets, comprising five boys and five girls, were a novice climbers who underwent rigorous selection and training.

NCC Cadet Kritika Sharma said that rigorous training the team went through over the past two years helped the team realise this grand vision.

NCC Cadet Mohit Knathia said that their never-give-up attitude was fueled by the desire to mount the Indian flag on the top of the world.

The Expedition team was flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 3rd April.
