Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that 12,000 special trains will be operated on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath festivals. This announcement comes after he held discussions with the Bihar NDA leaders. He said that after discussions with state leaders about the travel needs of the people, the ministry worked out not only new trains but several other schemes and infrastructure projects.

The Minister said four new Amrit Bharat trains will be launched to connect Delhi and Gaya, Saharsa and Amritsar, Chhapra and Delhi, as well as Muzaffarpur and Hyderabad for the convenience of general class passengers. In Delhi, Bihar NDA leaders met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to review railway arrangements for the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals.

The Minister further explained that passengers travelling between October 13 and 26, with return journeys between November 17 and December 1, will get confirmed tickets along with a 20 per cent discount on return fares, under a new experimental scheme.
