Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India’s defence industry has achieved production worth one lakh 50 thousand crore rupees, while defence exports have crossed 23 thousand crore rupees. He added that India is now exporting the defence equipment to more than one hundred countries. Interacting with the Indian Diaspora in Rabat, Morocco yesterday, Mr Singh highlighted the multidimensional progress achieved by India in the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, despite global and geopolitical challenges, India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy, rising from the 11th to the 4th largest in the world, and is poised to enter the top three soon.
During the interaction, the Indian community commended the decisive action of the Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor. Defence Minister reaffirmed that the Armed Forces were fully prepared and had been given complete freedom to respond after the cowardly attack on innocent Indians in Pahalgam.
The visit marks the first-ever by an Indian Defence Minister to the North African nation, signalling deepening strategic ties between India and Morocco.
