Geert Wilders, Dutch far-right leader and MP, has targeted Pakistan over the terrorist attack in Australia. Referring to the nationality of the terrorists involved in the Bondi Beach attack, he described Pakistan as a “100 percent terrorist country.” Wilders said Pakistan is a dangerous Sharia-based and inferior country.
“Pakistan is a 100% terrorist country. A dangerous Sharia-based inferior country. Osama bin Laden lived there for many years. The #BondiBeach terrorists are from Pakistan. I have received many death fatwas from Pakistani mullahs. We should all boycott and isolate #Pakistan,” he wrote on X.
Bondi Beach Attack: Here are some of the key details
- The death toll from the shooting that took place on Sunday at Sydney’s Bondi Beach has risen to 16.
- The attack was carried out by a father and son, as per the police.
- New South Wales Police stated that so far 16 deaths have been confirmed following the shooting.
- As per the police statement, 14 people died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the hospital.
- The ages of the deceased range from 10 to 87 years, and one of the attackers is also among those killed.
- As of Monday morning, around 40 injured people were receiving treatment in hospitals, five of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is among the world leaders who have condemned this attack. Writing on X on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi said, “I strongly condemn in the strongest terms this horrific terrorist attack targeting people celebrating on the first day of Hanukkah at Australia’s Bondi Beach.”
He added, “On behalf of the people of India, I express my deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. In this moment of grief, we stand in solidarity with the people of Australia.”
