In a setback to Pakistan, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in connection with the November 10, 2025, blast outside Red Fort in New Delhi. The UNSC’s Sanctions Monitoring Committee has named the proscribed terror outfit in its latest report.
As per the report, “One Member State noted that Jaish-i-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for a series of attacks.” The report further stated that the terror group “was also reported to be linked to an attack on the Red Fort in New Delhi on 9 November that killed 15 people.”
Significantly, the report also flags the terror outfit’s attempt to include women in its ranks. “On 8 October, Jaish-i-Mohammed leader Mohammed Masood Azhar Alvi (QD1.422) formally announced the establishment of a women-only wing, Jamaat ul-Muminat (not listed), which was aimed at supporting terrorist attacks,” the report notes.
The report, however, also seems to add a different assessment by another “Member State”. “Another Member State reported that Jaish-i-Mohammed was defunct,” it says.
