The East Turkistan Government-in-Exile (ETGE) has launched a scathing critique against Pakistan and China over their recent joint declaration dated May 26, 2026. The ETGE accuses Islamabad of endorsing Beijing’s controversial Xinjiang policies, which it refers to as East Turkistan.
According to the ETGE, Pakistan’s support effectively condones grave human rights violations against Uyghur Muslims and other Turkic groups. These alleged abuses include mass detentions, forced labor, and sterilization, as well as religious restrictions and cultural repression.
The organization further claimed that Pakistan consistently aligns with China’s narrative for strategic gains, dismissing alleged ties to terrorism as a facade. The ETGE has urged Pakistan to change its stance and condemn China’s actions.
