IAF expresses grief over loss of five personnel in AN-32 accident in Assam

An AN-32 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force has met with an accident at the Jorhat Air Force station in Assam this morning during a routine sortie.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has expressed grief over the loss of five personnel in the accident. In a social media post, IAF informed the Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam have lost lives in the incident. The air force extended its condolences to the bereaved families and said that it stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.
The Air Force said that crash site management and initial enquiries are on at this time. It has also requested everyone to refrain from speculation till preliminary results are not in.
