Maharashtra and the German state of Hesse have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in investment, industry, innovation, employment and skill development. The agreement was signed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Hesse Minister-President Boris Rhein at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai today.
Fadnavis said Hesse would serve as Maharashtra’s gateway to Germany and Europe, while Maharashtra would provide Hesse access to India and the Indo-Pacific region. The partnership will focus on industry, services, information technology, skilled workforce and cross-border mobility.
The MoU will facilitate cooperation in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, engineering, automobiles, financial services, logistics, digital economy and artificial intelligence. Fadnavis also invited Hesse-based companies to invest in Maharashtra.
