Finance Minister Sitharaman and Russian Deputy PM discuss to enhance cooperation in Fin sector

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today met First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in New Delhi ahead of the BRICS Summit 2026. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to further strengthen and deepen economic cooperation between the two countries. The Ministry of Finance said, they also deliberated on opportunities to enhance cooperation in the financial services sector. It was agreed to advance negotiations on a Bilateral Investment Treaty with a view to establishing a mutually beneficial framework for enhancing investment flows and economic engagement.
