Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today held a discussion with the European Parliament delegation focusing on effective implementation of India-EU FTA. The delegation, comprising members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, met Dr Singh in New Delhi. During the meeting, both sides discussed deepening cooperation in Science, Technology and Emerging Technologies.
On the occasion, Dr Singh said the India-EU strategic partnership offers significant opportunities for closer collaboration in areas of mutual priority, with science and research forming an integral part of the partnership. He added that the FTA will open new opportunities for businesses, consumers and skilled professionals and provide further momentum to the multifaceted India-EU strategic partnership.
Member of European Parliament Angelika Winzig said that India is a key strategic partner for the European Union. She said the delegation’s visit was aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of India’s industrial and technology policies and identifying areas for closer cooperation.
