A day after security forces apprehended three infiltrators in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, BSF shot down a Pakistani intruder along the international border in the Union Territory’s Samba district early Thursday.

According to a senior BSF official, the alert troops noticed suspicious movement of a person around 2.30 am who had crossed the border from the Pakistan side in the Samba area.

The man was challenged by the troops, but the intruder kept advancing towards the border fencing. The BSF personnel fired on him and he died on the spot.

Meanwhile, police sources said Rs 450 in Pakistani currency was recovered from him.
