Emphasising upon the prevailing peace and progress in the Kashmir valley, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Wednesday said that Kashmir has not only succeeded in maintaining the situation of peace and order but has also made significant strides in several other domains. Div Com Bidhuri stated that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of the local people, he said.

Addressing a gathering at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar, Bidhuri said that in 2023, Srinagar’s Tulip Garden witnessed a record-breaking number of tourists. Despite the potential for traffic congestion issues, proactive measures implemented in the preceding year successfully averted any such problems, he said.

“Whether it was the G20 event, Amarnath Yatra, Muharram Procession, or other occasions, all were celebrated collectively, exemplifying the essence of “Kashmiriyat” for which Kashmir is renowned. Expressing pride in his participation in these moments, Bidhuri said that the public should continue their collaborative efforts for sustained success,” he said.

Commending the efforts of contingents involved in the Republic Day Rehearsal celebrations, Divisional Commissioner Bidhuri also acknowledged their role in contributing to the positive narrative of progress and unity in Kashmir.
