India has reiterated its commitment to working closely with all parties involved in the Gaza conflict to help bring peace to the region. Speaking during a Security Council debate on Palestine yesterday, India’s Permanent Representative, P. Harish, emphasised the need for an immediate ceasefire and the safe release of hostages. He noted that India is one of the few countries that maintains open and direct relations with both Israel and Palestine, allowing it to play a unique and pivotal role in peace efforts.

Mr. Harish also condemned the terrorist attacks on the 7th of October, 2023, which claimed numerous lives, and called for unhindered humanitarian assistance to flow into the region.
