Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, today stressed that indigenisation is the way ahead to win future wars.  Addressing the Aero Tech India 2025 organised by FICCI in New Delhi, Mr Bharti recommended 100 per cent indigenisation to ramp up production within defined timeframes.
He presented a detailed framework for future conflict requirements, emphasising that wars will be won by faster innovation, integration and self-reliance.  He also urged manufacturers to invest in quantum computing for secure communications, scramjet engines to enable hypersonic missiles, core aero engine technologies for fighters and transport aircraft.
Later, talking to media on the sidelines of the event, Mr Bharti emphasised that the research and development environment and infrastructure in the country need a revolution. He said that there is need to encourage grassroots research and development in schools and colleges.
