The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Group Centre in Srinagar marked Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who played a pivotal role in unifying the nation. 

The day commenced with a 3-kilometer run and walk at GC Srinagar, promoting the values of unity and diversity among the Force personnel. This was followed by a pledge administration ceremony, where all officers and personnel reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.

In the afternoon, an investiture ceremony took place, recognizing 27 officers and personnel with Director General, CRPF Discs, and Commendation certificates for their outstanding performance in operational fields during the G-20 summit. Mathew A John, DIG, South Range Srinagar CRPF, and M Pradeep John, Second in command of 161 Bn, were honored with J&K Police DG’s Discs and certificates.

Additionally, the Best Cost Effectiveness Battalion trophy was awarded to B. R. Meena, Commandant-184 Bn, and the Best Administrative Battalion trophy of Srinagar Sector for the year 2022-23 was presented to Mohd Khalid Khan, Commandant-218 Bn, recognizing their exceptional work in their respective domains. 

The event was graced by the presence of all the DIsG, other senior officers, and personnel of Srinagar Sector. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ram Prakash Yadav, Adjutant of GC Srinagar, expressing gratitude for the successful celebration of Ekta Diwas and the exemplary contributions of the honored officers and personnel.
