To complete the SIR hearing process within the stipulated timeframe, the Election Commission has directed the state to conduct hearings for 7 to 8 lakh voters every day. Accordingly, instructions have been issued from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state to district electoral officers as well as officials and staff involved in the hearings. As per the schedule, this hearing phase is expected to continue until February 7. According to Election Commission sources, a total of 1.5 crore voters in the state are being called for hearings. Out of these, hearings for 90 lakh people have already been completed.
