Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, JP Nadda, today said that the government’s policies are guided by the goal of making the lives of farmers easier and more secure. Addressing the Chintan Shivir camp in New Delhi, the Minister highlighted the farmer-friendly measures taken by the government to achieve a record fertiliser production in the country, along with necessary imports this year. He further said that the government will work to tackle issues such as the balanced use of fertilisers and the diversion or misuse of fertilisers for non-agricultural purposes.

On the occasion, Minister of State Anupriya Patel said that the Chintan Shivir will help generate ideas that will aid in making India a developed nation by 2047. During the camp, 15 different groups engaged in deliberations, including self-sufficiency in fertiliser production, farmer awareness and improving the fertiliser ecosystem through digital means.
