The Government has sanctioned more than 3 crore 87 lakh houses to the States and Union Territories under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin(PMAY-G).

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Rural Development Dr Chander Shekhar Pemmasani said that out of the sanctioned houses, more than two crore 95 lakh houses have been completed as on 2nd of this month. He said that more than two crore 10 lakh 66 thousand houses have been sanctioned during the last five years.

The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin from 1st April, 2016, to construct four crore 95 lakh houses by March 2029.
