Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that over the past few years, the government has focused on achieving self-reliance and modernisation across all sectors, from weaponry and technology to clothing, equipment and training.

Speaking at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Indian Army and the Food Corporation of India in New Delhi, Mr Singh said India now manufactures a significant share of its defence requirements domestically. He said providing soldiers with good food, proper equipment, quality training and adequate facilities helps boost their morale.
