Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed hope that all Members of Parliament will uphold the healthy traditions of democracy, through their active participation. He also expressed hope that the Winter Session will be meaningful and productive.
In a social media post, Mr Birla noted that the sixth session of the 18th Lok Sabha, the Winter Session, begins today. He said each session of Parliament serves as a reminder of duty, restraint, and commitment to public welfare, strengthening the true spirit of public representation.
The Speaker added that Parliament is the highest platform for expressing the nation’s expectations, the people’s aspirations, democratic values, and the collective responsibility of elected representatives.
