US administration said its military strikes has severely weakened Iran’s military power during Operation Epic Fury. During a US Senate hearing, Admiral Charles Cooper II told lawmakers that Operation Epic Fury damaged about 90 percent of Iran’s missile, drone, and naval infrastructure. He said Iran’s navy may take a generation to recover and that Tehran can no longer launch large-scale missile and drone attacks like before.

Republican senators supported the campaign, saying Iran has long backed terrorism and threatened US interests. Democrats, however, criticised the administration’s approach.

The hearing also discussed Africa, where General Dagvin Anderson warned that terrorism is growing rapidly, especially in the Sahel and Somalia, while China and Russia are expanding their influence across the continent.
