Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, has stated that Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s ability to strike swiftly, decisively, and with precision. Addressing the Passing Out Parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, he urged the newly commissioned officers to uphold the spirit of jointness in their service to the nation.
The parade marked the commissioning of 130 male and 25 female officer cadets into the Indian Army. At the OTA, 21 foreign cadets, including nine men and 12 women from nine friendly nations, completed their training. Air Chief Marshal Singh spoke about the evolving nature of modern warfare and the need for integrated responses. He stated that the lessons from Operation Sindoor proved the successful synergy between the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other national security agencies.
He reminded the cadets that the armed forces are the nation’s first responders in times of crisis. The Air Chief Marshal urged them to recognise that true strength lies not in individual brilliance but in teamwork and joint operational capabilities. He encouraged the cadets to understand their roles and collaborate with fellow officers to advance the collective mission of the armed forces. No service operates in isolation, whether in the sky, on the ground, or at sea, Air Chief Marshal Singh added.
The Reviewing Officer also commended the high standards of discipline and drill on display, praising the OTA’s faculty and staff for shaping the cadets into future leaders. He emphasised that their rigorous training had equipped them with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed to excel in their military careers. During the ceremony, outstanding cadets were recognised. Raj Biswas received the Sword of Honour and Silver Medal, Parul Dhadwal was awarded the OTA Gold Medal, and Pranjal Dixit received the Bronze Medal.
