Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today virtually inaugurated and flagged off new door-to-door freight and parcel services from New Delhi.
The services are – Assured Transit Container Service from Delhi to Kolkata, Door to Door parcel service by utilising railways parcel van from Mumbai to Kolkata and railway goods sheds as integrated logistics hub.
The door-to-door parcel service will ensure efficient handling of goods for faster and on-time delivery. Briefing the media, Mr Vaishnaw said, door-to-door service efficiency is very essential for the country. He added that the service will foster real efficiency and reduce logistic costs.
