External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation should work together to promote stability and prosperity in the region by strictly adhering the principles of international law and respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other. Addressing the 22nd session of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO at Bishkek today, Dr. Jaishankar said, India is keen to partner with the Member States for sustainable, mutually beneficial and financially viable solutions. He said, India is among the top ten exporters in the world by value. Dr Jaishankar said, its total trade with SCO Members has shown robust growth, especially with Russia. The Minister said, the trade has grown by 20 per cent in the last year, moving from 140 billion US dollar to about 170 billion US Dollar. Dr Jaishankar also stressed on the need for robust connectivity and infrastructure to improve trade within the region. |
