The UN Security Council has approved a resolution endorsing US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, with 13 members voting in favour and Russia and China abstaining. The measure supports Washington’s proposal to deploy an international stabilization force and outlines steps toward a ceasefire, including the disarmament of Hamas and the creation of a transitional committee of Palestinian technocrats. This committee would operate under an international, Board of Peace. Israel welcomed the Security Council’s decision. The Palestinian Authority also backed the resolution, saying it protects Palestinians and upholds the two-state solution. However, Hamas, rejected the proposal.
