Multiple earthquakes struck parts of China, Tibet and Nepal within hours early Friday, with the strongest tremor measuring magnitude 4.5 in China, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The NCS said a magnitude 4.5 earthquake was recorded in China eraly today, at a depth of 10 km.

Earlier, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Tibet at 12:50 a.m. IST, followed by a magnitude 3.4 tremor in Nepal at 1:18 a.m. IST. The agency had also detected a magnitude 4.3 earthquake in Tibet at 11:25 p.m. IST yesterday.
The four earthquakes occurred across the Himalayan region and western China, with recorded depths ranging from 10 km to 130 km. No casualties or significant damage were reported immediately. Authorities had not issued any emergency advisories or tsunami warnings following the tremors. The Himalayan belt is among the world’s most seismically active regions due to the ongoing collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
