India today said the so-called elections in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir, PoJK stand as a humiliating rejection of the Pakistani Establishment. Briefing media in New Delhi this afternoon, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, Pakistani Establishment continues to unleash ruthless force against peaceful civilians in PoJK. He said the crackdown has resulted in the tragic death of over 40 civilians and serious injuries to many. The spokesperson said, facing a violent regime, the people have requested international organizations for an independent investigation into the unlawful killings. India urged the international community to scrutinize Pakistan’s actions and hold it accountable for its atrocities.
The spokesperson further stated that Pakistan’s absolute disdain for the innocent people of PoJK was laid bare when their Defence Minister branded the protesting civilians as enemies. He said the Special Assistant to PM on Political Affairs, openly admitted that the very “mujahideen” that Pak establishment trained, armed and sent to bleed India have now turned their guns inward, weaponizing themselves against the state.
The spokesperson stressed that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, are an integral and inalienable part of India. He said these territories were part of India, are part of India, and will continue to be part of India. He urged all partners and stakeholders of India to use the correct nomenclature for the region.
On Indian nationals in Russian Army, the spokesperson said, India has been following up with the Russian side for the release of the remaining Indian nationals with the Russian army. He said efforts have led to the release of 139 Indian nationals so far. New Delhi continues to pursue the release of around two dozen Indian nationals who reportedly joined and still remain with the Russian army. Mr Jaiswal cautioned people against job offers that are fraught with risks and made by unscrupulous individuals or agencies.
Replying to a query on On MV AGV Ragnar, Mr Jaiswal said, the commercial vessel came under attack while leaving the Odessa port on 25th of this month. There were four Indian nationals on board, of whom two are safe and two are missing. The Indian side is in constant touch with the authorities both in Ukraine and Romania. The spokesperson informed that both Ukraine and Romania have conducted search and rescue operations. He said the Ministry is also in touch with the family members of the missing Indian nationals and offering all possible help.
On deportation of Indians from the US to India, Mr Jaiswal said, 1260 Indians have been deported in 2026. A total of 3567 Indian nationals were deported from the US last year.
Replying to a question on Amnesty Report, the spokesperson pointed out that India has a robust legal and regulatory framework on strategic trade controls. He said India carries out its export of dual-use items and technologies to various countries in accordance with national laws and consistent with international obligations.
